4 Benefits of Ultratooth Dental Implants

4 Benefits of Ultratooth Dental Implants

Missing teeth are common. Over 178 million Americans are missing at least one tooth, and about 40 million Americans don’t have any natural teeth at all. Accidents, trauma, and gum disease can all lead to missing teeth, but losing your teeth is just the first challenging hurdle.

The dilemma of replacing your missing teeth can be just as challenging. You can’t picture yourself wearing dentures, and you definitely don’t want to wait months and months to go through dental implant treatment. But what are your alternatives?

Think Ultratooth® dental implants, says Jose Marcano, DMD, here at Orlando Center For Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Marcano explains how this outpatient procedure has revolutionized the implant industry, and the news will keep you smiling for years to come.

Designed to be different

Manufactured by Biodent, Ultratooth implants eliminate the major downside of traditional dental implants—the lengthy treatment time. Ultratooth is an immediate-load dental implant, and this unique characteristic is baked into its design. An Ultratooth dental implant has a special “Eiffel Tower" design with four contact points.

This design enables the implant to establish an immediate stable foundation for the replacement tooth, unlike traditional dental implants, which rely on lengthy healing and fusing time to create a strong, stable connection between the titanium post and the surrounding bone.

1. One-and-done instant results

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you are all too aware that you don’t want to be waiting around to fill that gap. Remarkably, this outpatient procedure typically takes less than an hour.

The appointment includes a thorough oral examination and X-rays if needed. Dr. Marcano uses the data collected to determine if you have sufficient high-quality bone density in your jawbone to support a dental implant.

If everything checks out and Dr. Marcano deems you a good candidate for dental implants, he administers a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable during the procedure. Once the treatment area is numb, Dr. Marcano installs a single Ultratooth implant for each missing tooth into your jawbone.

Next, Dr. Marcano places a temporary crown on each Ultratooth implant. Dr. Marcano completes the appointment by taking impressions of your mouth and sending this data to a dental laboratory that manufactures your custom crown. The best part is you leave the office with a fully functioning tooth where you had a gaping space just an hour ago.

About a week or so later, when your custom crown returns from the dental lab, you return for your final appointment, where Dr. Marcano removes your temporary crown and bonds the permanent crown to the Ultratooth implant.

2. No waiting and multiple appointments

With Ultratooth implants, you can say goodbye to the seemingly endless waiting game for traditional implants to fuse to your jawbone. That’s right, no waiting, multiple appointments, and downtime. You can resume your normal routines at work or home right away and finally dig into that steak dinner and all your favorite foods again. The only possible downside is you may not stop smiling, but we think you can deal with that just fine.

3. Minimizes bone loss and enhances bone density

The immediacy of Ultratooth implants has another great perk. With missing teeth, the longer it takes to replace them, the higher the risk of losing more and more bone density. This happens because strong, healthy bones need stimulation.

With Ultratooth implants, you leave your appointment with a same-day restoration, mimicking the role your natural tooth’s roots once had. This scenario means enhanced bone density and a reduced risk of bone loss and gum recession.

4. More comfortable and convenient than dentures

If your tooth replacement options include whether to go with traditional dentures, Ultratooth implants tip the scales on many levels. Compared to dentures, Ultratooth implants do a much better job of enhancing bone density and minimizing bone loss, and the aesthetics, comfort, and convenience can’t be beaten.

If you’re missing a full arch of teeth, here at Orlando Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, we also offer All-on-4® or All-on-6® dental implants. These special implants minimize the number of titanium posts needed and are a great alternative to complete dentures.
